Tími after Trúr and Dögg
Now we have had snow for two month straight.. Very cosy but as we often have wind here in Iceland, snow storm is not a rare thing! As I write this we have a big snow storm! Due to this we started to give hey to the horses at the field much sooner than usually and took the foals from their moms in the beginning of January! They are now in a "foal upbringing" at Hrafnkellstaðir where Jóhanna and Haraldur spoil them rotten :)
Most of our horses are getting into shape. We have many young horses this winter. The princess in the stable is Hátíð from Fellskoti, our 1.price Aronsdaughter and younger sister of Hnokki from Fellskot. The king of the stable is defiantly Boði from Sauðárkróki, our fourgater.. he starts very good and that gives great prospect for the upcoming year - hope we have more time for competitions this year than last! The young horses, now going on forth and fifth year are very exciting. The siblings Tími and Hrafnkatla from Mykjunes are starting well, their father is Trúr from Auðsholtshjáleiga. Then we have the youngsters (3 years) after Akkur from Brautarholt, Álfur from Selfoss, Aron from Strandarhjáleiga and Jakob from Árbæ. They all start well but we are especially fond of our Askja after Akkur and the first price mare Askja from Þingeyrar. You can read more about the 2008 vintage HERE.
