Foals of 2010

Hera frá Eylandi - IS2010284083

Finally we got Hera from Eyland but she is her mother forth foal and the first mare foal. We decided many years ago that Vera´s first mare foal would be named Hera after her grandmother Hera from Gerðum. Hera´s father is the talented Oliver from Kvistum (8.67) but he is after our favorite, Aron from Strandarhöfði. Hera has a long neck and goes on both tölt and pace with big movements. She is a bit different from her brother, they all chose impressive trot.

The pic was taken when Hera was going with her mum to met the honorprice stallion Sær from Bakkakot but Vera is pregnant by him.

Duld from Eyland - IS2010284082

Duld is after the honorprice stallion Hróður from Refsstöðum. Her mother is Draumsýn from Minni-Borg, a fivegater after Glóðar from Reykjavík. We are very impressed with Duld which is delicate, with very long and beutiful neck like her mother. She has long legs and good portions. Her gate is fantastic, she goes on tölt, pace and tölt on full power and almost never goes up to gallop. She has a good color, being "just" chestnut with a star, we were very glad that she doesn´t has the splash color that Hróður is giving to his offsprings. We are very happy with Duld and we are looking forward seeing her grow up and mature.

Kraflar from Mykjunesi - IS2010186720

The first price mare Elja from Þingeyrum got a stunning foal after the honorprice stallion, Keilir from Miðsetju. The foal turned out to be a little boy with very much tölt and pace. It is not often that we see this kind of movements in foals, but he is like a little spider. Kraflars bloodline is very interesting and his mother Elja is a fourgater with 9 for form under rider, she seems to give her offsprings very much movements. It is always fun to look at foals that have such movements..!

Hrafntinna from Mykjunesi - IS2010286720

Hrafntinna from Mykjunesi was born on the first day of June. She is after Hrafndís from Hofi, a daughter of Hrafn from Holtsmúla. The father is a promising stallion, Byr from Mykjunesi which is after Kjarkur from Egilsstaðabær and is breed by Davíðs father, Matthías Sigurðsson. More info about Byr you can see at his homepage, HERE. Hrafntinna is owned by us, Matthías and Leifur, Davíð´s brother-in-law.

Hrafntinna is a very big foal and goes on all gates but mostly tölt. This fall she has blossomed and at the moment she is a beauty-queen. She has a long neck and "giraffe" legs which seems to be Byr´s trademark on his foals!

Keilir´s son from Mykjunesi II

Perla from Framnesi gave birth to a beautiful Keilirsson which is bay with a star. The foal has long legs and neck but his mother, Perla, has been giving us very beautiful foals as well as the honor price stallion Keilir. The foal is very cute and goes on tölt and trot with good movements. He is owned by Davíð and his father, Matthías and his brother, Siggi. They havn´t given the little guy name jet.

Perla was a very promising mare with great bloodlines but unfortunately she got injured on her hind leg when she was only 4 years old and was put straight in to breeding. Siggi and Davíð know her well and describe her as a great mare with star qualities.
